Fighting Climate Change While Also Boosting Our Economy

As the sponsor of the Clean Energy Jobs Act mandating that Maryland obtain 50% of its power from renewable energy sources by 2030, Senator Feldman has pursued a two-pronged approach of enacting policies to stimulate Maryland’s clean energy sector, create high paying green jobs, while at the same time protecting our environment.

The Clean Energy Jobs Act will increase the state’s renewable electricity standard to 50% by 2030 and require legislators to develop a plan to reach 100% clean power by 2040. It is also expected to create thousands of jobs and make maryland a national leader in the renewable energy field, while cutting carbon emissions equivalent to taking 1.7 million cars off the road each year.
