Dear Friends:

During my four years representing District 15 in the Maryland House of Delegates, I have worked hard to improve our community and look forward to continuing to do so.

I passed laws to foster Maryland's emerging Biotech industry and to grow our State's economy.  I was responsible for initiatives to assist service-disabled veterans, new mothers and developmentally disabled individuals. I have fought to improve our transportation infrastructure, to enhance our education system, and to protect our environment.

Now, as I transition from the recent legislative session to the 2006 campaign trail, my re-election bid is off to a strong start.

Teachers’ Endorsement

High quality public education is at the heart of why many of us have chosen to live and raise our families in Montgomery County.  Strong support for our public education system and our teachers has been a priority for me in the General Assembly.

Recognizing this, the Montgomery County Education Association (MCEA), representing over 10,000 classroom teachers, guidance counselors and non-supervisory certified educators in the Montgomery County Public Schools, endorsed my re-election this week.

More Early Endorsements

The 10,000-member Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 500, which includes 8,000 school system employees who work on the front lines of our educational system and the Coalition of Asian Pacific American Democrats of Maryland (CAPAD), the largest Asian-Pacific American Democratic organization in Maryland, have both endorsed my re-election campaign for Delegate.
