District 15 Delegation Files for Re-Election

Annapolis, MD – On Wednesday, November 15th, Senator Brian Feldman, Delegate Kathleen Dumais and Delegate David Fraser-Hidalgo filed for re-election and announced their intention to run together as the District 15 Team Slate.  In a joint statement, the candidates said, “Over the past several years, we have formed a close working relationship for the benefit of the District, the County and the State.  Our diverse areas of legislative expertise and focus, as well as our various committee assignments, have benefitted our constituents and we look forward to continuing to serve the residents of District 15.”

Senator Feldman serves on the Senate Finance Committee which allows him to champion legislation to promote Maryland's biotechnology sector, create green jobs while reaching renewable energy goals, advocate for individuals with developmental differences and update and modernize Maryland's corporate, business and insurance laws. Additionally, he is the Chair of the Health Subcommittee and, given the uncertainty of the future of the Affordable Care Act, Mr. Feldman is in the center of the debate on health care coverage for Marylanders and prescription drug pricing.

Delegate Dumais serves as the Vice-Chair of the House Judiciary Committee where she advocates for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, criminal justice reform and public safety. Her strong legislative record is highlighted through her successes in improving family and juvenile law, consumer protections, law enforcement, drunk driving and estate planning.  On numerous occasions Delegate Dumais has had the honor of shepherding important legislation through the House of Delegates, acting as the Floor Leader for the Judiciary Committee.

Delegate Fraser-Hidalgo serves on the Environment and Transportation Committee and is also Vice Chair of the Montgomery County House Delegation.  He was the lead sponsor of “Alex and Calvin’s Law”, which strengthens penalties for parents who host underage drinking parties.  His most recent legislative accomplishment was as lead sponsor for the 2017 milestone environmental bill that banned hydraulic fracturing in Maryland.  As a fervent proponent for environment, Delegate Fraser-Hidalgo garnered bipartisan support for the fracking ban and brought national attention to this critical issue.

The District 15 Team looks forward to returning to Annapolis and continuing to advocate for the citizens of Montgomery County.

By Authority: The District 15 Leadership Team Slate, Daphne Bloomberg, Chair, Jerrold Garson, Treasurer
